Atlanta Selected to Host Super Bowl LIII in 2019

ATLANTA, GA — The Super Bowl is headingΒ to Atlanta for Super Bowl LIII in 2019.

The NFL announcedΒ Tuesday that Atlanta has won the right to host the game for the third time. This will be the first Super Bowl in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which is under construction and scheduled to open as the new home of the Falcons in 2017. The NFL owners will continue to vote on Tuesday to determine the other two Super Bowl sites, with Los Angeles and South Florida being the favorites to earn the honor. Tampa Bay is also vying to get one of the games, too.

New Orleans was in the running to host Super Bowl LIII. NFL owners already determined the sites for Super Bowl LI (NGR Stadium, Houston) and Super Bowl LII (U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis).
