Gastonia Fire Caused by Stove Left Unattended
GASTONIA, N.C. — Firefighters responded to a structure fire Tuesday afternoon in Gastonia.
The Gastonia Fire Department received a call about a structure fire on Glennallen Drive at approximately 2:32 p.m. Firefighters arrived on the scene and observed a one story home with smoke and flames coming from the middle of the structure.
A total of 20 personnel and 5 apparatus were on the scene to extinguish the flames. An estimated $10,000 in damages was caused by the fire.
Officials say the fire was started by food left unattended while cooking on a stove. The residents were not home at the time.
