Hit And Run Driver Faces Judge

CHARLOTTE, NC– A judge refused to lower a $250,000 bond for the man accused in the hit and run death of a boy in East Charlotte.

Juan Antonio Quintanilla-Garza faced a judge today after being brought back from Texas. Investigators say he hit and killed six-year-old Anthony Castellon Rivera on Eastway Drive in April.

Quintanilla-Garza’s attorney Timothy Smith says his client is shaken to his core. That’s why he turned himself in.

“His frame of mind is testified to by the fact that he couldn’t live with it either, apparently. So here he is.” said Smith.

Quintanilla-Garza is scheduled to be back in court in June.
