Police Won’t Charge Sitter Who Hit Toddler

SHERWOOD, OREGON – A loophole in an Oregon state law is keeping police there from charging a babysitter who admitted to attackingΒ a toddler. The boy had a black eye, bruises and scratches after being left with the sitter.

Police told the child’sΒ parents there wasn’t enough evidence for charges.

Plus, a state law requires proof child abuse victims were in substantial pain, but the boy, who is 1 year old, is too young to talk. At last check, a petition to change the law has nearly 34,000 signatures.
