iPhone Tracker Leads Deputies to Break-in Suspects

LINCOLNTON, N.C. —ย An iPhone tracker app helped lead deputies to the suspects of multipleย vehicle break-ins in Lincolnton.

Deputies were dispatched to the Medline Industries facility on East Powell Drive Wednedayย evening after employees began reporting break-ins to their vehicles in the businessย parking lot.

Stolen from the unlocked vehicles were cell phones, a pair of boots, a Socialย Security card, and $260 in cash.

The girlfriend of one of the victims told deputies she had placed the โ€œLocate My iPhone Appโ€ย on the cell phone and was tracking the phone in the Lincolnton area. She continued to giveย deputies updates on the location of the cell phone and officers found the suspect vehicle at aย convenience store on North Aspen Street.

Deputies located the suspects inside the store and placed them in custody. Caleb Ward, 22, and Joseph Verbos, 24, face multiple charges includingย Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Larceny.
