Police have identified the victim of Friday morning’s shooting as 34-year-old Gary Bynum.
Police say Bynum was shot in the head and remains in critical condition at CMC.

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD is investigating after a person was shot in east Charlotte early Friday morning.
The shooting happened around 1:25am Friday on John Penn Circle off The Plaza. The victim was taken to CMC with life threatening injuries.
Police are still searching the area. No arrests have been made.
