Rain Doesn’t Affect Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway

CONCORD, NC – Rainy weather threatened to disrupt a second weekend of racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway. But, there ended up not being any delays in the Coca-Cola 600.

Just before the race, strong winds and threatening skies had some doubting the race could be run.

But fans like Bryce Jones say NASCAR fans won’t let a little wet weather dampen their spirits.

“Nah, heck no. There’s plenty of beer, and food, and prizes, and stuff to go around, so, no, everybody loves it,” Jones says.

Charlotte Motor Speedway officials say they were prepared to do everything they could to get the race in Sunday night.

They had 14 jet dryers and 12 Air Titans on hand to dry the track if necessary.
