Jail Inmate Charged with Breaking Into Medicine Cabinet

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A Lincolnton inmate faces felony charges after allegedly breaking into a medicine cabinet at the jail.

Captain Tim Johnson started an investigation after the nurse at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center reported medicines missing from the cabinet.

After interviews, reviewing video footage in the Detention Center, and searching several different areas, multiple items were located and seized.

James Jenkins, 29, was charged with Safecracking, Breaking and Entering, Larceny after Breaking and Entering, Possession of a Controlled Substance on Premises of a Penal Institution.

Because of the latest incident several safety procedures have been changed and upgraded.
