A Carolina Panthers’ fan has filed a lawsuit against the Dallas Cowboys and their security company after he was placed in a “sleeper” hold following the Panthers-Cowboys game this past Thanksgiving, according to media reports.
John Small, from Asheville, said he was told by security to sit down near the end of the game after he stood up holding a homemade sign. Reports say the sign read “11-0” and that Small was not disruptive to other fans.
As he was leaving the stadium after the game, Small was hit on the back by a security guard causing Small to stumble before the security guard wrapped his arm around Small’s neck creating a chokehold, according to media reports.
Small seeks $25,000 in damages. Β A video of the incident was posted on YouTube and has been viewed nearlyΒ 200,000 times.
