Gastonia Man Charged With Killing Puppy

GASTONIA, NC– A homeless Gastonia man is charged in an unbelievable case of animal cruelty. He’s accused a beating a puppy to death over a slice of pizza.

Christopher Leach is charged with felony cruelty to animals. Police arrested him yesterday afternoon outside a barber shop in downtown Gastonia.

A witness told police he saw the puppy try to eat a Leach’s pizza. Shortly after he saw leach slamming a bag on the sidewalk and realized the puppy was inside the bag.

“I was like, the dog is in the bag, the puppy is in the bag. I laid my clipper down and went out about time the time I stepped out I could hear the last few minutes of the puppy hollerin’ and then there was no more hollerin’ ” said Defay Lomick.

Leach is also faces charges for smashing the barber shop window and being drunk in public.
