Ron Rivera Remembers Muhammad Ali
Rivera says Muhammad Ali influenced him in his development as an athlete, as a person
CHARLOTTE, NC- “I was fortunate to grow up in the era when Muhammad Ali was “The Greatest.”
Kelli Bartik caught up with Ron Rivera at his 4th Annual Bowl-A-Palooza event, which raises money for the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. The Panthers Head Coach showed her the throwback Cassius Clay t-shirt he was wearing underneath his bowling shirt to pay tribute to boxing champion.
Rivera says Ali really exemplified his nickname, “The Greatest,” by the way he did things throughout his life.
“He really did influence me and impact me in my development as an athlete and my development as a person because he stood for so many things that were really great things, important things, social things that we as people need to make sure we focus in on and pay attention to. He really did believe in his values and he stuck to them.”
