CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have charged 47-year-old John Johnson for shooting at an occupied vehicle.

On Sunday at 12:50 p.m., officers responded to the 6600 block of Idlewild Road. Officers spoke with one of the victims who stated that she was traveling behind the suspect getting ready to make a right turn when the suspect all of a sudden stopped his vehicle.
The victim stated that when she stopped, the suspect got out of his vehicle and began to yell her. When she drove off, the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired one shot, striking the vehicle. No one was injured as a result of the shooting.
After executing a search warrant at Johnson’s residence, detectives located and seized a firearm that is believed to have been used in this shooting and a Marijuana growing system that contained 15 two-foot plants.
Johnson was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Assault by Pointing a Gun, Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Vehicle, Discharging a Weapon in the City Limits, Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping Controlled Substance within a 1000 feet from a School, and Manufacture Marijuana.
