Charlotte hoops to play Maryland in December

CHARLOTTE, NC (WCCB Charlotte) — Mark Price and the 49ers will suit up against a Big Ten team next season.

Charlotte announces a neutral site game with Maryland to be played in Baltimore at Royal Farms Arena on December 20. Charlotte is 0-3 all time against Maryland with the last meeting coming on Jan. 3, 2009 in College Park, 85-75.

“We are excited and look forward to playing Maryland, who played in the Sweet Sixteen last season, in Baltimore,” Charlotte head coach Mark Price said. “We look forward to the challenge.”

Maryland went 27-9 last year and finished in a four-way tie for third place in the conference.

Charlotte finished 14-19 in Mark Price’s first year. The 49ers lost to eventual Conference USA Tournament Champion Middle Tennessee State in the C-USA quarterfinals.
