YORK, SC — Troopers say one person was killed and three were injured after a head-on collision in York County Monday.

The accident happened around 4:49pm Monday on Old York Road (SC 161) in York.

Troopers say a 20-year-old man from Rock Hill was heading north in a 2000 Kia SUV when he crossed the center line and hit a 2004 Dodge pick-up driven by 59-year-old William Seigle of York, and his three passengers, head-on.

Seigle and his two passengers, a 61 and 62-year-old male, were all wearing seat belts. Seigle was pinned in the vehicle but crews were able to get him out. Seigle and one passenger were taken to CMC while the other passenger was taken to Piedmont. They are expected to be okay.

The driver of the SUV was killed in the accident. Investigators say he was not wearing a seat belt.

His name has not yet been released.
