CHARLOTTE, NC — Officials say more than 2,000 people are without power due to a broken power pole and blown transformer.
Duke Energy officials say lightening struck a pole in the area of Prosperity Church Road and Mallard Creek Road overnight causing damage to the pole and transformer.
CMPD is assisting with traffic around North Dearmon and Eagle Creek where traffic lights are out due to the outage.
Duke Energy crews are working to replace the pole and restore power to the area.
Restoration is estimated around 10am.
