Teen Sings His Way Out of Jail Sentence

A teen was offered a chance to write a song or go to jail for two days.

SOUTHAVEN, MS– A Mississippi teen sang at a street corner with a sign taped to his back telling people to roll their windows down and listen to a message, but this wasn’t just for fun. Rodney Hall, 19, was singing to avoid jail time.

Hall was on probation for a DUI and failed a drug test, but the judge cut him a deal. The teen was offered a chance to write a song about his mistake and sing it on a street corner or go to jail for two days.
Hall took the offer.
Hall says he’s been singing since the sixth grade and that everyone in his family also sings. He’s also taking his talent even further, studying music education in college.
