A Charlotte Marine Veteran claims Time Warner Cable fired him after he lowered the company’s American flag to half-staff on Memorial Day.

Sergeant Allen Thornwell voiced his frustration in a video on Facebook that has since been removed.

The 29-year-old says he did not think to ask permission before lowering the flag and his contract was canceled the next day. Thornwall also says he was told that touching the flagpole was against company policy.

Should the Veteran have asked permission first?
