CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A memorial fund has been set up for Captain Long, who drowned while searching for a missing swimmer on Lake Norman.
The Long family has announced that they would like to see all donations for Captain Long be given to the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Fire & Rescue Department. They advised that the reason that they wanted this done is because of the immense amount of love that Captain Long had for his line of work.
A memorial fund has been established at Peopleβs Bank in Captain Longβs honor. Those people who wish to donate money may so so by visiting any Peoples Bank location in the state of North Carolina.
