Taste of Charlotte Big Success in Uptown

CHARLOTTE, N.C.–Vivian Pell from Monroe, says, “There is so much amazing stuff from dance music, to the food is awesome. the drinks oh, IΒ  just love it!!”

Jerry Gallaga, from Wisconsin said, “First one, it’s really amazing, a lot of vendors just coming to see whats its all about.”

Organizers say it’s a chance for restaurants to showcase their food.

Carrie Griffin produced a Taste of Charlotte and says, “We have 30 restaurants out here from Charlotte.Β  They are all selling menu items from their restaurant to give you a sample of food you could have in their restaurant.”

More than a hundred vendors also set-up to sell their goods.Β  And say its a great way for businesses to advertise.

Pat McMahan owns Formerly Mcfudge and says, “This is huge and a lot of people and even though the weather was really hot this weekend still brought a lot of people.”

And with temperatures in the 90s organizers say they were prepared to keep everyone cool.

“We have misting tents set up we haveΒ  a few vendors handing out fans to keep you cool and on Levine avenue we set up a spray ground underneath a tent,” says organizer Griffin.

We found many simply enjoying the sun and with so many food options,

“We had Dippin Dots ice cream andΒ  IΒ  had some pizza,” says Emma Douglas from South Charlotte.

Many tasting say they can’t wait to come back!

The festival takes place on Tryon Street and will continue tonight until 11 p-m.

And Sunday from 11 am to 6pm.Β  Admission to Taste of Charlotte is free.
