Protestors Demand Gov. McCrory Take Action On HB2
CHARLOTTE, NC– Outside Friday’s Gubernatorial Debate, protestors called for the Governor to urge lawmakers to repeal HB2. More than a dozen people held signs outside the Westin. A few went into the hotel, but were quickly escorted out.
Demonstrators with the human rights campaign called the law far-reaching, and demanded that the Governor takes action.
“I think its sending the message that he actually agrees with hb2. It’s very contradictory. He’s on meet the press saying that its badly crafted and it should be repealed and yet hes doing nothing about that.” said protestor Scott Bishop
No lawmakers have publicly talked about any revisions to HB2 being discussed in Raleigh. Both the House and the Senate plan to adjourn their legislative session before July 4th.
