Charlotte Ranked ‘The Sweatiest City’

Honeywell Fans has released their 2016 list of “America’s Sweatiest Cities.”

Honeywell teamed with Dr. Ted Myatt, an environmental health scientist, for the second year to pinpoint places across the country where hot and sticky combine to create a sweat factor.

β€œUsing updated criteria as well as data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, we looked at a range of environmental factors to pinpoint β€˜hot spots’ across the country. The study factored in the average summer temperatures of each city and proximity to large bodies of water. Fitness and recreational sports facilities, as well as sports teams per capita were also considered for the rankings, knowing that more frequent exercise and crowded sporting events lead to a city’s overall sweatiness,” said Myatt.

Last year, Tampa, Florida took first place. This year, Charlotte took the number one spot for “America’s Sweatiest City” followed by Raleigh, NC in second place.
