ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A Salisbury man was arrested Tuesday in connection to a murder in Texas.
In June, the Dallas Police Department requested assistance with a murder investigation that occurred in Texas on March 3rd.
The victim was a 32-year-old female that had been found beaten to death inside of a residence. During the course of the investigation, evidence collected at the crime scene matched 51-year-old Eric McLendon, of Salisbury. McLendon is a registered sex offender due to a Rape conviction in Iowa.
On June 28th, McLendon was located and arrested by Rowan County officials. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center and awaits extradition back to Texas to face murder charges.
