Hornets to sign point guard Ramon Sessions

CHARLOTTE, NC (WCCB Charlotte) — Ramon Sessions is coming back to Charlotte.

According to Yahoo Sports, the free agent point guard has reached a deal with the Hornets worth $12.5 million over two years. Sessions, 30, played a season-and-a-half in Charlotte from 2012-14.

Next season will be Sessions’ tenth in the NBA. Sessions was used primarily off the bench last season for the Wizards as he averaged 9.9 points per game, 2.9 assists per game and 2.2 rebounds per game in 20.3 minutes per game.

Sessions will likely fill the back-up point guard role left vacant when Jeremy Lin opted out of his contract and landed a contract with Brooklyn.

This marks the third free agent signing by the Hornets in the ‘moratorium’ period from July 1 to July 6th. Signings can become official on July 7th.
