STATESVILLE, N.C. — Police have located and arrested the suspect of a Statesville homicide.
On Sunday afternoon, Statesville Police Officers responded to a shooting at a residence in the 1200 block of Wilson Lee Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim inside the residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was shot during an argument, and the suspect fled the scene on foot. The victim, Anthony Harper, 51, later died as a result of his injuries.
After investigating, officers identified the suspect as Desmond Thompson, 36, of Iredell County.
On Monday at around 1:30 p.m., The Statesville Police Department received a tip on the possible whereabouts of Thompson. Thompson was located and arrested.
