Clinton Brings President for Charlotte Campaign Stop

Charlotte was tabbed as the first joint campaign appearance for Hillary Clinton and President Obama.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte was tabbed as the first joint campaign appearance for Hillary Clinton and President Obama.

The two former political rivals took to the stage at the Convention Center in Uptown; talking Trump, the issues and turning North Carolina blue again.

“I’m fired up,” President Obama told the crowd. “Hillary got me fired up!”

The message plastered around the Charlotte Convention Center was “Stronger Together”, and it was clear the crowd loved the powerful combination of Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama.

“We feel like history is being made,” said Matthews resident Patty Crawford. “We feel like, hopefully, we’re going to see two presidents at one time today.”

“It is a big win for her that he is fired up and ready to campaign on her behalf,” said Dan Bessing of Winston-Salem.

“There has never been any man, or woman, more qualified for this office than Hillary Clinton,” said Obama.

The president was passionate, but also loose and relaxed on the campaign trail in this first joint appearance with his one-time political rival. The message was on point; with the pair talking about growing jobs and the economy, educating and protecting children, and equality for women.

“We have positions,” said Lindea Gabriel from Concord. “We are educated. And we want the same opportunities as my husband has.”

No mention of North Carolina House Bill 2, or the investigation into Clinton’s emails.

But both president and candidate took plenty of shots at Clinton’s Republican rival.

“Everybody can tweet, but nobody actually knows what it takes to do the job until you’ve sat behind the desk,” said Obama.

“Here in North Carolina, this election is our chance to say our country is better than this,” said Hillary Clinton. “In American we don’t tear each other down, we lift each other up. We build bridges, not walls.”
