Officers Investigate Video Depicting Animal Torture In Rock Hill

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Rock Hill Police say they made a shocking discovery when a cell phone video showed dogs being tortured.

Police say they made the discovery while conducting an investigation on violent criminals living in the area.  The video on Deangelo Roseboro’s phone showed Tevin Anderson torturing three dogs in a back yard, according to police.  Detectives say Anderson could clearly be seen throwing lit firecrackers at the dogs, who were all chained to various locations around the yard.

Investigators say over the course of the nearly 8-minute video, dozens upon dozens of firecrackers were thrown at the dogs, no doubt causing severe psychological trauma. The animals can clearly be seen trying to escape from the firecrackers, according to police. One dog even managed to run inside of it’s shelter, where it became trapped with Anderson throwing firecrackers into the doghouse, police say.

On July 5th, officers searched the address and managed to take Anderson into custody. The dogs were seized by York County Animal Control, who noted that the animals appeared to have injuries and would be taken to a vet for further evaluations. WCCB is working to get their conditions at this time.

Further items, including firecrackers and crack-cocaine, were located inside the residence and generated other charges against Anderson. The 25-year-old, currently with 3 charges of Ill Treatment of Animals and Possession of Crack Cocaine, told Rock Hill Police that he was caring for the dogs on behalf of an individual who was in prison.

Officers are still searching for Deangelo Roseboro on 3 charges of Ill Treatment of Animals. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-877-409-4321.
