Four People Charged for Lincoln County Break-In

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. – Four suspects from the Charlotte area were recently charged by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office following a break-in.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2800 block of Devine Road after a neighbor saw the group leaving the home in an older model blue Oldsmobile. The vehicle was subsequently spotted by a Gaston County Police officer on Mariposa Road.

After attempting to flee the scene, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. One of the female suspects was injured during the crash while the second female was taken into custody. Both male suspects manage to flee from the scene; however, one of them was later apprehended by a K-9 unit while the other was found around 4:30 pm riding a bike police believe was stolen.

Items stolen from the residence were recovered from the crash and the four suspects are believed to be behind two other home break-ins in Gaston County. Dana Hunter, Lashonda Tucker, Maurice Clark, and Marcus Broadhurst were each count with one count of Breaking and Entering a Building, Larceny after Breaking and Entering, Possession of Stolen Goods, and Conspiracy.

Hunter is currently in the Lincoln County Detention Center with a $15,000 secured bond, while Broadhurst ($73,000 secured bond) and Clark ($10,000) remain in a Gaston County jail. Tucker was transported to Gaston Memorial Hospital and released before warrants could be served.
