CHARLOTTE, NC – The American Red Cross opened a relief centerΒ today to help aid Mecklenburg County residents that areΒ still without power after Friday’s powerful storms.
The facility is hosted at the Northwest School of the Arts Gymnasium. TheΒ Northwest School of the Arts is accessible by means of the CATS Route #7. The location is on 1415 Beatties Ford Rd in Charlotte.
The facilityΒ will be open from noonΒ to 7pm this evening.
Duke Energy said that restoration may take until Monday at 11: 45 p.m. According to Duke Energy, as of 12: 30 p.m. this afternoon, approximately 24,000 Duke Energy customers remained without electricity. Duke Energy says that approximatelyΒ 350,000 customers lost power at some point after Fridays’ storm.
