Fallen CMPD Recruit Laid to Rest
CHARLOTTE, NC — An emotional goodbye for a CMPD recruit who died while training to become an officer. Jeremy Moseley collapsed during physical fitness training last week.
Family, friends, and hundreds of CMPD officers attended services at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Ballantyne. Moseley’s family and Chief Putney say the community should be inspired by his dedication.
“Jeremy was just a great, great, great friend, family member,” said family member Russell Moseley.
“He was giving his all,” said Chief Putney. “He was trying to live up to an oath that he didn’t even get to take. And not only the recruit class, but current officers need to honor that.”
Moseley had just moved to Charlotte from Queens, New York. The medical examiner has not said what caused the 29-year-old’s death.
