Man Pleads Guilty to Murder of Volunteer Firefighter
ROWAN COUNTY, NC — One of four men charged in the murder of a volunteer firefighter in Rowan County will spend life in prison. Khari McClelland pleaded guilty to first degree murder.
He’s accused of shooting Marcus Kauffman in December of 2013. Kauffman was shot in the head after he and his pregnant wife found McClelland and another man burglarizing their Cleveland home.
Two other men are charged with accessory after the fact of first degree murder.
