Technical Issue Causing CMPD 911 Call Center To Drop Calls

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD’s 911 call center experienced technical issues on Monday that may have caused some callers to get disconnected when being transferred.

Officials say that people who calling 911 seeking Medic or Fire assistance may have been disconnected during transfer to those departments.

AT&T has now resolved all technical issues and the 911 call center is no longer experiencing interference with call transfer capabilities.

There were minimal interruptions during this event and no public safety concerns as a result.

The Charlotte Fire Department and Medic Communications responded to the CMPD Communications Center to assist with 911 calls until the issue could be resolved.
