A local Zaxby’s is investigating after complaints that employees taunted two deputies and tainted their food.
The two Cleveland County Sheriff’s Deputies say the employees used the hottest sauce possible on their food, making it inedible. They say it happened Sunday at the Zaxby’s on East Dixon Boulevard in Shelby.
A spouse’s social media post claims cooks began yelling at them and calling them names. When the deputies received their food, it was allegedly too hot to eat.
The franchise owner would not confirm if the employees were fired, but the restaurant is investigating.
“I think it’s disgusting,” said customer Joey Smith. “If you want to know the truth, the community should support the police. I think we all need to come together as a community and hash things out.”
