Cooper Vows to Repeal HB2 If Elected Governor
CHARLOTTE, NC — North Carolina Attorney General and Democratic candidate for Governor Roy Cooper says he wants the NBA to help repeal House Bill 2.
At Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte today, Cooper said the league should not move next year’s All-Star Game. He says it’s an important economic tool. But Cooper thinks lawmakers could do a better job working with concerned businesses.
“I recognize it’s a problem, but I tell them to help us attack the problem,” said Cooper. “Governor McCrory doesn’t believe it’s a problem, which is a fundamentally different issue.”
Cooper also unveiled his economic plan, which he says will let people keep more of their money and nurture small businesses. It includes cutting taxes for the middle class, investing in education programs, improving infrastructure by passing a transportation bond, restoring the film tax credit, and expanding Medicaid.
