Woman Held at Knife-Point During Armed Robbery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police say they arrested an armed robbery suspect in Rock Hill.

Only July 13th, officers from the Rock Hill Police Department responded to a call about a possible armed robbery at 113 E. Main Street, a parking lot near a Wells Fargo Bank. Officers met with the 61-year-old female victim in the bank’s parking lot, who stated that she was approached by an unknown black male in the alley between the bank and the Children’s Museum.

She also reported that the perpetrator forced her at knife-point to empty the money out of her purse and then ordered her to go with him to the Wells Fargo ATM to make a withdrawal.

A female witness to the event was able to distract the perpetrator by throwing her keys at him as she contacted the police. After receiving a description of the suspect from the victim, officers located an individual matching that description entering the Rotunda at City Hall. After being detained, the victim was able to positively identify the suspect and have her property recovered and returned afterwards.

The suspect was later identified as 58-year-old Danny Thomas Brown and was subsequently charged with Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, and Possession of a Weapon during a Crime of Violence.
