Hundreds Gather For Peace Vigil In Gastonia
GASTONIA, NC– Peace and unity brought hundreds together tonight at Mount Zion Restoration Church in Gastonia.
Government officials, religious leaders, law-enforcement and citizens from all over Gaston County came together for the prayer vigil. They honored the five fallen Dallas police officers, and the two black man shot by police officers last week.
The message was positive, promoting unity of all races and professions.
“Don’t let what labels you are given determine your response to these tragedies, let our god lead the way,” said Gaston County resident Maggie Christy.
“I just hope that we care enough for one another to work through our problems in this country so things for my generation can be better,” said Kevin May.
Religious and elected leaders told the crowd they will carry the message on, so Gaston County stands in peace.
