Local Pastor & Business Owner Killed After Being Struck by Lightning

DALLAS, NC – A Gaston County community is remembering a beloved pastor and business owner who died after being struck by lightning.

Friends say Scott Pasour was on his motorcycle near Mt. Mitchell Saturday and had stopped to put on rain gear when it happened.

Along with owning an auto shop, he was an associate pastor at Venture Church.

Sunday, people left cards and flowers at his business. His employees say they’re still in shock over what happened.

“You know if he had been in a very bad accident, or something, you might could accept that a little better. But for what happened, it’s just such a freak thing,” said employee Paul Gibson.

Friends also say Pasour was known for the Tuesday night Bible studies he held at his auto repair shop.
