Thomas Davis Reflects on Playing with Broken Arm at Super Bowl

CHARLOTTE, NC (WCCB Charlotte) — He told everyone he would play in the Super Bowl after breaking his arm in the NFC Championship.

Thomas Davis was not to be denied.

“I still have this nice little scar to prove it, but its nothing like it was after the Super Bowl,” Davis said of his arm.

It continues his legacy that he is leaving for Panthers fans, the rest of the NFL and the next generation of football players and fans. Like the 240 kids he was coaching up during his two-day football camp at Hopewell High School in Huntersville officially titled: The Citi Thomas Davis Football ProCamp presented by SunnyD.

“That’s what I want to teach these kids is perseverance and having a goal in mind,” Davis said. “I have stuck to that goal my entire career. I hope kids can learn that after seeing what I was able to do.”

Participants at Davis’ camp experienced various stations and specializing in the fundamentals of football. The camp also provided scholarships to disadvantaged youth in the area.
