Charlotte Catholic alum Elijah Hood named preseason All-ACC RB

STAFF REPORTS — Charlotte Catholic HS alum and UNC running back Elijah Hood was named to the All-ACC Preseason Football team announced on Wednesday.

The team was selected by a vote of 191 media members who were credentialed for last week’s ACC Football Kickoff in Charlotte.

Hood, a junior started all 14 games at tailback, carrying the ball 219 times for 1,463 yards and 17 touchdowns.  His 1,463 rushing yards was third in the ACC last season and the second-highest single-season total in Carolina history behind only Don McCauley’s brilliant 1970 season of 1,720 yards. The UNC tailback also ranked second in the league in rushing touchdowns and second in yards per carry (6.7).

Defending league champion Clemson led all schools with 10 selections to the 2016 All-ACC team.
