Prowling through the Preseason: Panthers Report to Training Camp

SPARTANBURG, SC (WCCB Charlotte) — The defending NFC Champion Carolina Panthers have begun reporting to training camp at Wofford College on Wednesday morning.

Defensive tackle Kawann Short was no exception. Short set a franchise record for defensive tackles with 11.0 sacks last season and enters the final year of his rookie contract which would pay him a base salary of $1.036 million. He skipped a pair of voluntary OTA sessions during the summer but attended the mandatory mini-camp. Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman places a high priority on linemen and has reportedly been attempting to extend the contract of Short.

Short spoke with reporters as he was checking in about his contract situation.

As is the case when talking about the Panthers, everything is dissected and analyzed to the nth degree. Wardrobe choice on Wednesday is no exception.

Don’t forget your favorite pillow, Philly Brown. You have to stay well-rested.
