ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Officials have arrested a woman who they say deliberately started a fire in Rowan County.
On July 21st, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and Rowan County Fire Marshalls Office began investigating a fire at 1445 Pine Ridge Road near China Grove.
As a result of the investigation, officials discovered that the fire was deliberately set.
Malinda Mauney, 37, was determined to be the person who started the fire. She was arrested by Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, and charged with Second Degree Arson. Mauney was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
