Judge will Consider Injunction to Block Part of HB2

CHARLOTTE, NC – Monday the battle over North Carolina’s controversial House Bill 2 heads to the courtroom.

Groups suing the state will ask a Federal Court Judge in Winston-Salem to temporarily block the bathroom portion of the law, until the case goes to trial in November.

It currently requires transgender people in government buildings to use the bathroom that matches their birth certificate.

Supporters of HB2 have stood by what they call a common sense law – intended to protect women and children in the bathroom.
