SPARTANBURG, SC (WCCB Charlotte) — Ron Rivera admitted that after five full practices, including three in pads, his team’s mental frame was dragging on Monday morning’s practice.
But overall, Rivera likes what he has seen after the first five days of camp and he wants to see his guys recharged for Wednesday’s practice.
“Resting, feet up. Icing and getting as much rest as they can,” Rivera said. “It’s been a tough five days, it’s been a good grind. They have handled it very well.”
The team has lightened the load of veteran players throughout camp giving different guy’s days off. Thomas Davis, Kurt Coleman, Ryan Kalil, Greg Olsen and Ted Ginn each had the day off on Monday while Kony Ealy missed his second straight practice and remains in the concussion protocol.
“Kony will see the independent (doctor) today or tomorrow,”Rivera said. “He seems to be bouncing back really well. “Hopefully we will get a good report today or tomorrow. But it’s going to be a few more days before we get the evaluation.”
The Panthers next practice is Wednesday at 9:25am.
