PAGELAND, SC — One person is dead after an accident early Monday morning in Chesterfield County.
The accident happened around 5:45am on U.S. 601 at Dove Sutton Road.
Troopers say 72-year-old Phillip Wilson was traveling South on 601 in his 2017 tractor trailer when he ran into the victim’s 2016 Volkswagen. The victim had been stopped at the intersection and was turning onto 601 from Dove Sutton.
Wilson was uninjured, but the driver of the Volkswagen was killed.
Investigators say both Wilson and the victim were wearing seatbelts.
