CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are searching for a man accused of attempted rape after he reportedly cut off his electronic monitoring device.
Investigators say Kenneth Sumpter is wanted for attempted 2nd degree rape, 2nd degree kidnapping, attempted 2nd degree sex offense, damage to property and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.
He was court ordered to wear the device as a condition of his pre-trial release. Police say on August 12th, Sumpter cut off the device near Equipment Drive. Anyone with information on Sumpter is asked to call 911 immediately.
