It can be confusing to know when you can and cannot pass a school bus on the road. Our N Charlotte Toyota team wants to clarify it for you. So beware when you see the flashing amber lights on a school bus!

  • One lane road – All vehicles must slow down when the school bus’ lights begin to flash in amber. Once the lights begin flashing red, all vehicles must stop until the bus turns the lights off!
  • Multi-lane road – If you’re driving in a multi-lane road and a school bus stops, all lanes must stops as well! The drivers are only permitted to drive once the bus retrieves the lights.
