Police Turn Missing Persons Case Over To Homicide Unit
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have new developments after three people were reported missing in Charlotte. Warrants have been signed against two of the missing people.
19-year-old Ahmia Feaster, along with 17-year-old Alejandro Castillo, and 23-year-old Tru Quan Le, also known as Sandy, were all reported missing last week.
Two vehicles involved in the case have been recovered. Feaster’s vehicle was found on Dulin Creek Boulevard in east Charlotte over the weekend. Police say Le’s vehicle was located in Phoenix, Arizona and now warrants have been filed against Feaster and Castillo for possessing a stolen vehicle.
Police say they believe Feaster and Castillo are in Mexico. The missing persons case has been turned over to the homicide unit. However, police say they do not know if a homicide has been committed at this time.
“This is a nightmare for us right now. We don’t know what to do. We’ve been looking for her and we have no clue,” says Le’s Aunt Thoa Ly.
She says her niece left Tuesday night to meet Castillo and possibly Feaster at a QuickTrip on Eastway Drive near Central Avenue.
Family members say Castillo was supposed to return a thousand dollars he had borrowed from her. But none of them have been seen since, and Le’s bank account has been drained.
“It’s been really nerve wracking, really stomach turning, because we don’t know if she’s OK, we don’t know if she’s alive. This is unlike her, she’s never done anything like this,” explains Le’s family friend Hanadi Ibrahimobic.
We’re told all three used to work at a Showmars on Little Rock Road, but haven’t been seen there lately.
Le’s family members have hired private investigator Jennifer Simmons to help with the search.
She says she’s looking into suspicious items found in the car, including a possible gun. Police have not confirmed that.
She also wants to know why the car was left there.
“We’ve talked to the neighbors and things like that and nobody seems to have a connection to any of the missing,” says Simmons.
There is a $10,000 reward being offered through Crime Stoppers for information concerning this case. Callers can remain anonymous when they contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
