DAVIDSON, NC (WCCB Charlotte) — Davidson’s basketball team will play a handful of teams from power conferences, including games at North Carolina and Kansas, as the team released its non-conference portion of their schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
“What an exciting schedule for our players, our staff and our fans,” said head coach Bob McKillop in a press release from the team. “Our non-conference games match us up with legendary Top-10 programs like North Carolina and Kansas, as well as many NCAA Tournament caliber teams.”
Davidson will appear in the 2016 Puerto Rice Tip-Off event with a contest against Clemson to start and will face either Xavier or Missouri in the next game. The 2016 field will also showcase Arizona State, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma and Tulane.
The Wildcats first home game of the regular season is November 12 against Appalachian State. Davidson will host Charlotte on November 26.
The Wildcats return four starters from last year’s team that finished 20-13 overall, while advancing to their sixth-straight postseason appearance and 11th in the last 12 years. It will be head coach Bob McKillop’s 28th season as the team’s head coach.
