Investigators Identify Man Shot And Killed By Troopers In Northeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Officials have released the name of the man shot and killed by a trooper in northeast Charlotte.

Investigators say Daniel Harris was shot and killed by Trooper Jermaine Saunders around 6pm Thursday in the Seven Oaks neighborhood.

They say it started on nearby Rocky River Road with a car crash, possibly a hit and run. The trooper followed the suspect in that car crash into the Seven Oaks neighborhood in northeast Charlotte.

According to neighbors, Harris got out of the car and rushed toward the trooper; the trooper then fired a shot, killing the man.
