4 Things You Need To Know For Tuesday
CHARLOTTE, NC — WCCB News Rising brings you the biggest stories of the day. Here are the 4 Things You Need To Know for Tuesday:
1. A Federal Judge in Texas is blocking the Obama Administration’s directive on transgender bathroom use in public schools. Under the order, public schools don’t have to allow transgender students to use the restroom of their choice – per the administration’s policy from earlier this year. The judge says the Title IX federal law makes it clear that gender is defined as ‘biological and anatomical differences’ at birth.
2. Donald Trump is calling the Clinton Foundation corrupt. Former President Bill Clinton is saying if Hillary Clinton wins the race for the White House, there will be some sweeping changes to the Foundation. The former President says he’ll decrease his direct involvement. Hillary Clinton says the charity won’t accept foreign or corporate donations if she’s elected.
3. Donald Trump’s running mate Mike Pence is making a campaign stop in Charlotte Wednesday. He’ll speak at a private event hosted by Charlotte Pipe and Foundry. He’ll also headline an afternoon rally near Wilmington later on in the day.
4. Charlotte Mecklenburg school board members are reviewing the first phase of the district’s new Student Assignment plan. Some of the changes include defining socioeconomic status, creating better access to magnet schools for all students, and reviewing transportation zones.
