State To Review Gaston County DSS
CHARLOTTE, NC– The state will investigate the Gaston County Department of Social Services, following the murder of Jordyn Dumont.
The Department of Health and Human Services’ Child Fatality Review is required by law. It will look at how Gaston County DSS functions in a general sense.
It could also suggest revising policies and programs.
But the State says there are no plans to review Jordyn Dumont’s specific case.
Today, there was a private family viewing.
Jordyn’s remains will be cremated, but family got to see her one last time.
We were there last night as guardians of the children motorcycle club escorted her body back from the medical examiner’s office. Jordyn’s father was there as they carried his daughter inside.
Jordyn’s funeral arrangements have been set.
There will be a balloon release in memory of the murdered three year old at 12 noon on Saturday outside Greene Funeral Home. It will be followed by a memorial service and a Native American prayer.
There will be no graveside service.
